We initially followed our passions into the travel and adventure fields and established a foothold in the outdoor sporting goods industry in 2001. Celebrating our 10-year anniversary in 2011, we have expanded our expertise into the architecture, design and energy fields with media and industry connections around the world, and remain active with many market-leaders in adventure sporting goods.

Ryan Hayter (President and CEO) – Ryan is a successful and vital resource for all things marketing and media related earned through more than 20 years of experience managing and advising communications programs for multiple global brands. Through years of front-line experience he is a strategic mastermind, a confidante for top executives and a trusted resource for hundreds of journalists. Ryan launched Hayter Communications in 2001 in order to have the luxury of representing products, services and people that inspire him. As a result, he has a history of maintaining exceptionally long relationships with clients who view Hayter Comm as an essential arm of their marketing team, not just a distant agency. Prior to launching Hayter Comm, Ryan worked in-house for Hallmark Cards, ERA Real Estate, Real Networks and K2 Sports. He understands first-hand the pressure handed to internal marketing departments and prioritizes his clients needs to simplify their daily work lives. Kate Gaeir (Account Manager) – Kate was practically raised in the world of sports marketing and media relations. She had her first industry job working for Nike as a print model at age five and hasn’t looked back since. After spending five years in-house at Helly Hansen as a marketing coordinator, she ended up in-house at Hayter Comm where she managed key apparel accounts including Holden, Planet Earth Outerwear, Adio Footwear, Helly Hansen, Cappel, and others. Kate has been a client, an employee and a contractor for Hayter Communications for 10 years. In late 2007, she moved to Portland, Oregon and started her own marketing, events and public relations firm, Akimbo Communications, but continues to collaborate with Hayter Comm and manage key clients. Christina Erb (Account Manager) – When Christina is not managing her accounts, she is likely researching her next freelance piece. In recent years, she has held positions as gear editor for Alpinist, assistant editor for the Outside Buyer’s Guide, and has published many other works in The New York Times, Men’s Journal, Women’s Running, Foreign Policy, SNEWS, Travel + Leisure, Skiing, Outside, Outside’s Go and Outside Online. We all know that if given the chance, Christina would travel for a living and write as a hobby, but then again who wouldn’t love that? Christina is based in Boulder, Colorado, where you can probably find her climbing, biking and exploring the mountains with her trouble-making mutt, Santos…after work, of course. Jake Hanson (Account Manager) – Jake joined the team at a mere 20 while he was finishing school at Seattle Pacific, and quickly found he was born for his role at the agency. After graduating and spending a few years fine-tuning his retail and event skills at evo in Seattle, he came on full time with Hayter Comm and now acts as the social media advocate and account manager for many of Hayter Comm’s brands. After a recent season in New York matching faces with names, Jake is now on conquest to incorporate many of Hayter Comm’s brands into up-and-coming publications, living the constantly changing media landscape. Jake would be voted most likely “out of office” after a huge dump in the hills, and spends most of his drier times riding bikes through the streets of Seattle, taking pictures or barbecuing something.
